One of Tribeca's best off-the-beaten-path art galleries has opened its doors to a whole different world of fandom. On Friday, the HPGRP gallery unveiled "The Magic of Kingsglaive and Final Fantasy XV," which displays concept art from the 30 year-strong gaming franchise's new cinematic and video game entries.
Known for hyper-realistic human imagery, expansive settings, colorful RPG showdowns, and—of course—fabulous costumes, Final Fantasy has cemented itself as a pretty much unbreakable cultural institution. The new exhibit celebrates the art of Yoshitaka Amano, the artist responsible for the aesthetic of the franchise, and shows images from the newly-released movie Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, along with the next game in the series, Final Fantasy XV.
The free exhibition is open Tuesdays through Saturdays. "The Magic of Kingsglaive and Final Fantasy XV," runs through September 3.
