Want to pay parking meters from your phone? There's an app for that.
New Yorkers (at least in some areas of Midtown) can now pay for parking spots through an app called ParkNYC, according to DNAinfo. The app works for all parking meters in Manhattan between 14th and 59th.
Drivers will create an account and pre-pay the app in $25 increments. Then, once you park, you'll use those funds to pay for your spot by putting in your "unique zone number," found on the physical meter, and putting in the amount of time you'll need. You'll no longer have to rush out of your meeting to refill the meter or fumble around for change. The future is now!
Mayor de Blasio promised this system would be throughout the city by the end of this year back in February, so be on the lookout for expansions.
