It's been a swinging week for The Battery, and now that they're finally unveiling the stunning SeaGlass Carousel, it's only going to get crazier. The Battery Conservancy spent nearly a decade and $16 million to create this whimsical, distorted underwater reality ride, and from the look of it (see our slideshow if you're curious), it's worth the price of the $5 admission.

Take a psychedelic, three-and-a-half-minute trip while sitting inside color-changing LED fiberglass fish and cruising to Mozart. Just make sure you've brought the kind of date who'd be down for another five go-arounds.

The carousel opens to the public on Thursday Aug 20 from 1pm–12am, and is open every day from 10am–10pm.
