With the return of oyster season, we're in full-blown bivalve mode and it doesn't look like we're the only ones—Pier A Harbor House is hosting its first-ever Oysterfest this Saturday, in conjunction with the annual Stone Street Oyster Festival.
Thirty-thousand oysters from Blue Point, Long Island, will be on offer in the plaza outside of the harbor house and available to pair with a proper Guinness. Beer-and-bivalves ain't really your thing? There will also be lobster rolls, swordfish tacos, wine and champagne available for purchase. Along with the grub, experts from the Harbor School will be on hand to discuss the Billion Oyster Project, a restoration and education incentive aimed at restoring one billion live oysters to the New York Harbor. Entry to the fest is free between noon and 8pm on Saturday.
