While the New Orleans Pelicans may have beat the New York Knicks 99-to-91 last night, the true winner of the game was one of the spectators. During the final minutes of the game, Carmelo Anthony was bum-rushed by a young boy who ran onto the court to give him a full-body hug. Anyone entering the court during a game is a major security infringement for the Smoothie King Center (yes, that's actual name of New Orleans's stadium), but the kid’s obvious enthusiasm and affection for Melo turned the situation in his favor. Anthony’s surprised reaction was to tussle the kid’s hair before the child was escorted off the court. Hopefully the warm embrace of a young fan comforted the star player after the less-than-stellar season.
