If you thought the pastrami sandwiches at Carnegie Deli were huge, wait until you see the salami sammie Di Lusso Deli Company is attempting to make at Madison Square Park this weekend. On Saturday, the tasty meat-and-cheese-selling company is attempting to beat the Guinness World Record* for the tallest sandwich, and they're going to need plenty of space to make it happen. To beat the current record, which was set by a resort Sugardale Foods in Cleveland, Ohio when they constructed a 40 layer, 26 inch tall sandwich.

If looking at those pounds of meat, bread and mustard made you hungry, don't fret—there'll be plenty of snacking available at the event, which will include free food, live music, games and even a massive sandwich sculpture. The occasion is being hosted by Top Chef's Padma Lakshmi and runs from noon-6pm. After the event all giant sandwiches will be donated to Food Bank NYC. Find out more details about attending on the event's Facebook page.

The polls are open! Vote for your favorite spots that deserve a Love New York Award.

*Update: An earlier version of this post incorrectly cited a non-Guinness World Record holder in India.
