Ready to feel old? We're coming up on the 20th anniversary of the publishing of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, a little book that kickstarted not only the most successful book series in history but also theme-park attractions, a sold-out stage play and one of the highest-grossing film franchises ever.
That's a lot to celebrate and celebrate you can at Nitehawk Cinema, which is screening all of the Potter films from January 7th through March 26th as part of its Booze & Books series. The programming will also feature a book-versus-film panel in collaboration with the Strand and food-and-drink specials, including chocolate frogs ($4) and, of course, Butterbeer ($10), which comes spiked with two types of rum (Goslings Bermuda Black, Diplomatico Añejo), a porter reduction, spiced butter and brown sugar.
