[title]
Canadian designer and engineer Charles Bombardier recently unveiled the concept for a super-snazzy supersonic jet, which could take around 75 passengers from New York to London in about a half an hour—that's five times faster than the Concorde, and ten times the speed of sound. The jet, called the Skreemr, would launch from a magnetic railgun and use a scramjet engine (a technology currently being tested for military purposes) to hit more than 7,600 mph.
Presently, there a number of teensy obstacles that need to be overcome before you'll be able to book a transatlantic jaunt on the Skreemr. For example, figuring out how to get the jet up to speed without causing every person onboard to black out as a result of g-forces. But hey, just think of the money you'll save on inflight drinks.
