TV may be having its moment right now, but the ‘80s were the place to be for music videos and movies on VHS. Littlefield is narrowing it down to one stellar year, 1986, with its One Crazy Summer soiree on June 10 to celebrate the 30th birthday of a slew of classics. These are just a few of the hits released between May and August of 1986 alone: Top Gun, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Aliens, Short Circuit, Stand by Me, Labyrinth and One Crazy Summer. Not a single one of those is a sequel! (Take notes, 2016.)
At the retro dance party, trailers for your favorite ‘80s movies will be playing by the front bar, with your favorite ‘80s music videos on the dance floor. Tickets are just $5 (available here), and there will also be prizes for in-character lip-synching. “Twist and Shout” is the obvious choice.
