The three things you need to know today in New York: Mon July 17

1. Starting today, the Museum of Modern Art is screening 70 amazing science fiction films. The movie series runs through August 31 and features movies from 1901 through this year.

2. There’s a floating pop-up water park in the Rockaways. If the beach isn’t enough for you, head to Rockaway Water Park for jet ski rentals, a rope swing and bouncing platforms.

3. One of the best restaurants of the year so far is Empellon. The midtown spot is serving imaginative tacos and the avocado mousse you’ve seen all over Instagram.
