These are New York City's 2016 James Beard Award nominees

That New York was well-represented among this year's nominees for the 2016 James Beard Awards shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. The lineup for this year's awards includes a rookie neobistro, a next-level absinthe-fueled bar program and world-class pastry chefs. The winners in the Restaurant and Chef categories will be announced at an awards gala at the Lyric Opera of Chicago on Monday, May 2. (The Book, Broadcast and Journalism victors will be awarded at a separate event here in New York on Tuesday, April 26.) While you wait for the big night, check out this year's New York nominees:
