2016 has been the year of the food hall: since January, Penn Station's the Pennsy, Grand Central's Great Northern Food Hall and a new Battery Park City location of Eataly have joined the ranks of more established dining concourses like Chelsea Market. Neighborhoods from Sunset Park to Hell's Kitchen are now chockablock with food courts and Chinatown's next: Canal Street Market, the city's newest food hall, will open its doors at 265 Canal Street in November.

One of the city's larger courts, Canal Street will clock in at 12,000 square feet and host more than 11 food, drink and retail outlets. The full vendor list hasn't yet been released, but count on cool scoops from Davey's Ice Cream, bubble tea from Boba Guys and Asian bites from Yori Nori, a new concept from the team behind Mokbar and Korilla BBQ. A coffee shop will provide caffeine fixes, while an indoor garden will offer a peaceful respite from the bustling streets of lower Manhattan.
