Be careful not to confuse these two addresses. Gingerbread Boulevard and Gingerbread Lane are located in two completely different boroughs. Also, only one of them is life-sized.

While Gingerbread Boulevard is set to run through Madison Square Park during December, Gingerbread Lane has already been constructed at the New York Hall of Science in Queens. The mammoth display of miniature homes has won the Guinness World Record for the largest gingerbread village in 2013, 2014 and 2015, and will by vying for the title again this year.

The gingerbread-based community is made entirely from edible gingerbread, royal icing and candy. It takes chef Jon Lovitch a full year to create the wonderland which he designs, bakes and plans himself.

The best part of this annual tasty tradition? On the display’s last day (January 16) you can stop by and take home one of the gingerbread houses yourself. Your move, Met.
