The MTA transit committee voted Monday to resurrect the W train.
Having last ran in 2010, the train could be up and running in Astoria by this November—connecting the Queens neighborhood with the Financial District in lower Manhattan.
Tentatively, the plan is for the W train to run weekdays from Ditmars Blvd. in Astoria to Whitehall and ultimately replace the Q train that will be rerouted in December as part of the Second Avenue plan.
The plan still requires a board vote Wednesday, but the transit committee vote is a strong indication that commuting from Queens will be a bit easier come November.
