This is a big week for the Meatball Shop co-owner Michael Chernow: In the middle of celebrating the red-sauced shop's fifth anniversary in business, the restaurateur has announced he'll be branching out with his own seafood spot, Seamore's.

The new venture, slated for a corner spot at Broome and Mulberry Streets in Little Italy, will follow the same quick-serve format as the Italian sandwich chain while still using high-quality, locally-sourced ingredients—including catches from Montauk (fluke, porgy, monk fish). There'll also be a nine-stool bar serving a short list of classic cocktails, wine and beer. Chernow has plans to make this an all-day operation, with hours currently set for 9am to 11pm Sunday through Thursday and 9am to midnight on Friday and Saturday. No word on an opening date or specific menu items just yet, but stay tuned for more details. Maybe we can expect another cookbook down the road? 390 Broome St at Mulberry St (no phone yet)
