It's time, Shack lovers—after a temporary shuttering back in October, the original Madison Square Park location of Danny Meyer's patty-flipping juggernaut makes its grand return to the park on Wednesday, May 20th at 11am. To celebrate opening day, the flagship will be hosting a free, open-to-the-public blowout, complete with the unveiling of a new burger and beer.
The location-exclusive, limited-engagement ParkBurger (single $7.09, double $9.39) is topped with cave-aged Jasper Hill Farm raw cow's-milk cheese sauce and Niman Ranch applewood-smoked bacon, while the beer is a collaborative effort with Brooklyn Brewery dubbed Shack Phoenix, an unfiltered lager brewed with Bohemian barley along with a trio of European hops.
Rounding out the festivities are a live performance by brass-and-drum Brooklyn United Marching Band, a Biscuit Bike courtesy of Bocce's Bakery handing out free ShackBurger Dog Biscuits to canines from noon to 2pm, and 100% recycled model kits of the Shack from Boundless Brooklyn.
