The 12 best food and drink deals in NYC for the solar eclipse

If social media is any indication, all anyone cares about today is the solar eclipse (Game of Thrones gets an honorable mention). Even though it's only going to have 70 percent visibility in NYC, it’s not stopping you from snapping up free glasses, watching the Empire State Building put on a light show or eating and drinking eclipse-themed snacks and drinks in the middle of day. (Hey, it’s not our fault the eclipse is at 2:44pm. Blame Mother Nature for the day drinking.) We’ve already rounded up the best events where you can watch the celestial spectacle, but there’s also a slew of food and drink deals to take advantage of during the solar eclipse. 

The party is already underway at this taqueria, where you get free glasses along with $10 specialty cocktails like the Tequila Eclipse of the Heart and Over-the-Moon.

This Fort Greene café has the right idea: Go outside to watch the eclipse. Today, you can get a $14 to-go lunch special to take to the park. It comes with a vegan BLT sandwich and a Relax and Recover drink.

Psh, forget glasses and cocktails (which this party does have)—here you'll find all-you-can-chew Eclipse Gum. All that’s missing is a screening of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge 

This gorgeous new rooftop pool has views that are stunning enough on an ordinary Monday afternoon, but it gets next level with an eclipse viewing party today. A $35 ticket gets you glasses, a lobster roll sandwich and a Frozen Eclipse cocktail.

This midtown deck is serving up Eclipse Negronis today, and even though you won’t be able to see the total eclipse here in NYC, the views of the Manhattan skyline more than make up for it.
