If you're one of the crazy people in this city with a car, life may soon be easier for you: Starting later this year, you'll be able to feed the meter straight through your smartphone. The DOT is rolling out an app that works with all 85,000 meters citywide, Gothamist reports.
This means you can re-up on paying expensive parking fees from the comfort of your office, bar stool or Starbucks seat without, ugh, walking outside. Plus, you'll be reimbursed for any non-used time. De Blasio's New York, everyone!
If you're staunchly for the Old New York, the Muni-Meters, where you pay by ancient forms of coin or credit card, will still be around.
