A very brave amateur paranormal investigator visited 13 of New York City’s most haunted locations (many that also made our list) for Fusion this week and tested just how haunted they really were.

The results at most of the locations were somewhat mixed, but the biggest takeaway is that you can purchase a ghost meter from Amazon for just $20. Seriously, it’s only $20. Probably worth the price if you’re investing in some old property, just saying.

A “ghost meter” is an EMF reader that measures the electromagnetic field of an area. As everyone knows, it’s a scientific fact that ghosts cause these levels to spike.

Turns out, White Horse Tavern and the Algonquin Hotel are pretty darn haunted. The Campbell Apartment? Not so much. See the list of properties they tested below and head over to Fusion to read the full results. They'll probably also give you some great ideas for any Halloween scavenger you might be doing (at your own risk) this holiday weekend.
