Since last June, plans have been afoot for building a museum next door to the Statue Of Liberty on Liberty Island. In October, architects FXFOWLE released final renderings for the building, which will feature a grass-covered roof. Now, in an unsolicited bid, zU-studio, a young firm based in Amsterdam, has put forth a triangular design that would have been more futuristic than FXFOWLE’s, and definitely more holistic: zU-studio notes that their plan would have encouraged visitors to contemplate body, mind and spirit. While it’s unclear as to what, exactly, they meant by that, the place would have certainly looked cool.
