This Valentine’s Day Weekend, celebrate a truly historic love.

The Lower East Side Tenement Museum is gearing up to host its first-ever Valentine’s Day tour tomorrow night. The “Love at The Tenement” event will focus on the rarely told romantic stories of the building’s former tenants, including a widow who found love again and a woman who fell for a boarder.

The tour delves into the love lives of some of the 7,000 people that lived inside the restored tenement between 1863 and 1935. Scraps of a love letter that’s signed, “Your only onliest,” (pictured below) inspired the event. The letter was written to a young woman living in the building and includes such choice phrases as “The seat of my pants are hot” and “We’ll have a bully time.”

There will be two tours tomorrow night, one at 6:30pm and the other at 8:30pm. Following the exploration of historic New York City love, you can enjoy a cash bar, free cupcakes and late-night shopping at the institution’s amazing gift shop.
