A burst water pipe caused a partial blackout at Grand Central Terminal yesterday morning after disrupting electrical feeds in the station.
The lower level of the station was instantly plunged into darkness after 18 inches of water flooded a room full of electrical equipment. Trains scheduled to run on the lower level were diverted to the upper level, and the Terminal only saw minor delays in service. Full power was restored around 5:30 this morning with lingering delays of about 15-20 minutes.

Businesses at Grand Central closed after the power went out. But the trains kept running. https://t.co/z5yuRUVPB1 pic.twitter.com/A4b19UKiEP
