Ah, the Swiss. The land that’s brought us fancy chocolate, luxury watches, delicious cheese and exceedingly secretive bank accounts is now giving us another wonderful thing: a day of free Citi Biking.

In honor of Bike-to-Work week, you can get a Citi Bike day pass this Thursday (usually $9.95) for no cost at all (as long as you stay within the time limit). The giveaway is being funded by Switzerland Tourism, which hopes to encourage New Yorkers to travel to their own bike-friendly country. (The small nation features almost 5,600 cycling routes.) Ok, sure. Why not?

So if you’ve been wondering whether or not you'd like biking to work every morning, Thursday’s the perfect day to give it a test ride. Biking up Third Avenue may be hard, but hey, it’s not The Alps.
