Summer may be long gone, but that won’t keep us from enjoying all the rooftop bars that are still open for fall. And, oh my gourd, you guys—some rooftop hangouts have created pop-up pumpkin gardens! Well, er, sort of.

Get into the spirit of the Halloween season at Refinery Rooftop, which is hosting a Penthouse Pumpkin Picking event this Saturday (Oct 15). There will be classic autumnal treats, including cider, beer and hot chocolate as well as live music and plenty of pumpkins to “pick”. A ticket ($60) gets you an open bar, treats and, of course, a pumpkin to take home.

Keeping up with the trend, Monarch Rooftop is hosting a pumpkin carving contest during Halloween Weekend. On Saturday, October 29, head to the outdoor rooftop (it’s enclosed during the colder months, but there’s still a killer view), which will be transformed into a Halloween utopia filled with pumpkins, haystacks and fall foliage. Before you start carving, sip signature cocktails such as apple cider mimosas and spiked pumpkin hot chocolate (yum!), which will take the competitive edge off once you find out about the grand prize. (The winner for the best jack o’lantern will receive a prime viewing spot during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade at the Monarch, of course). Just make sure to R.S.V.P. for the contest in advance via email (monica@addisongroupnyc.om).
