In a city where nearly anything is delivery-ready (see: Delivery.com's Central Park picnics, ice cream on demand via Uber, one-hour bike messengers at Amazon), Seamless and Caviar addicts now have an alternative to takeout. Kitchensurfing, a new NYC-only service, brings a personal chef into your apartment to prepare dinner—and clean everything up.
Chefs arrive with ingredients in tow to whip up meals in 30 minutes. Using the mobile app, you can get same-day delivery if you order by 3pm, which means you can take care of dinner after ordering your lunch online. For $25 per person, you'll receive a choice of three menus and pick the 30-minute timeframe you'd like your chef to prepare and serve dinner. The only requirement is that you invite a friend (or five) to your place. More than six guests, however, will require a large party request, which can range from a dinner party package ($100 per person) to family-style meals ($50 per person) and a cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres ($40 per person) and can't be done in the same day.
