If you live in north Brooklyn or southwest Queens, it's time to get excited for some free shuttle buses.

The latest project in the MTA's FASTRACK program will bring overnight service shutdowns to eight G train stops over the next two weeks. Service between the Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand stations will not be operating from 10pm to 5am on June 5-9 and June 12-16, giving way to much-needed maintenance along the stretch.

During these windows, crews plan to complete a wide range of work, including debris removal, repairing signal components and tunnel infrastructure, and making aesthetic upgrades to platforms. LED screens have already been installed at several G stations, and the work over the next two weeks could be a major step in bringing countdown clocks to the line

Free transfers to shuttle buses will be available for commuters traveling between the affected stations during the service outages. While inconvenient, the work promises to have a "significant impact on decreasing delays."

Here's hoping that promise holds true.
