Listen, we're not kidding—these tickets are going to evaporate fast, by our reckoning. Soul hero D'Angelo is playing the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem on Saturday, February 7, and it's billed as "An evening with…," so you can expect something pretty intimate. It's the golden-voiced singer's first show in celebration of Black Messiah—his first album following his tantalizingly extended break from the limelight. In other firsts, it's D'Angelo's first headlining slot at the Apollo, though he actually won Amateur Night three times, back in the day (the story goes, he invested his winnings from the competition to buy equipment to make Brown Sugar, his delicious debut). This show will kick off his international tour, the Second Coming.

Need a quick primer on why you need D'Angelo in your life? Check out our D'Angelo profile. Want to know why Black Messiah is such an important record? Read our thoughts from the record's release last month. Want to spend an evening being enchanted by one of soul music's true innovators? Get ready to buy tickets for this show. Tickets start at $56, and go on sale Wednesday, January 21. You can hit up ticketmaster.com, or head to the Apollo box office at 253 West 125th Street (212-531-5305).
