One of the most widely recognized faces in American policing and a fixture in New York for years, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton is expected to voluntarily resign today say city officials. A press conference was set for noon today to announce more details. Bratton will be replaced by Chief of Department James O'Neill.
The resignation comes after an Occupy City Hall protest demanded the resignation of Bratton and defunding the NYPD.
