In the grand tradition of unnecessary but still existing single-subject restaurants (Potatopia, the Nugget Spot), upcoming restaurant BEC will specialize in that hangover-curing bodega staple, the bacon-egg-and-cheese sandwich.
And like Egg Shop before it, BEC is planning to upgrade the deli standard with premium products: the $7 namesake will come tucked inside a custom brioche, while other offerings may include the "Spicy Spaniard" (manchego cheese, Serrano ham) and the "Farmhouse (honey, fig jam, pancetta and ricotta).
The joint is looking to operate from 7am until 2am, good for late-night breakfast-for-dinner grub. 148 Eighth Ave between 17th and 18th Sts
