New IMAX gym coming to DUMBO may finally convince you to work out

Usually when you find yourself in front of a giant IMAX screen, you’re gaining calories (Thanks, buttery popcorn and milk duds.) But pretty soon, you might be burning them.

A lawyer representing a company called IMAX Fit LLC has applied for a special permit with Community Board 2 that would allow the big screen purveyors to open a gym on the first floor of 135 Plymouth St. in DUMBO. 

According to DNAinfo, the gym would consist of rows of stationary bikes, all facing a giant screen. Projected on the screen will be original content provided by IMAX and its partners. High-energy music will be played during classes. Basically, the perfect place to pretend you're not stuck in NYC in the middle of February.

If approved, the space would be the first IMAX cycling studio in the country.
