If you’re driving out of town for a weekend getaway this Memorial Day, it’s probably best to start making moves now (because who needs to work, right?). According to the Times, this weekend’s getting-out-of-town traffic is expected to be the worst in a decade, with more Americans planning to hit the road than they have since the infamous Memorial Day 2005 (okay, we don’t actually remember whether it was bad then, but 37 million American drivers on the road doesn’t sound great).
After the horrible, awful, frigid winter we just left behind, nobody’s surprised that everyone and their Tinder date want to hit the road tomorrow. Plus, gas is cheaper now than it was last year (not that high gas prices would keep New Yorkers away from the beach).
So get out while you can...Or at the very least, start meditating at your desk right now to combat the looming road rage. Happy holiday weekend, everyone!
