[title]
Each week, we take two New Yorkers who swear they're totally undateable, and put our matchmaking skills to the test. Afterward, we find out what went well on their date, and what went horribly, horribly wrong.
Why they're single:
Laura: Wakes up every day and asks herself the same question
Sebastian: Finds it hard to balance his job, his modeling career and weekend charity work
Ideal date:
Laura: Going on a taco crawl, then minigolf at Pier 25
Sebastian: Jet Skiing in the East River, followed by dinner and dancing
First impression
Laura: “The hostess pointed at a table with this 95-year-old man, and I was like, ‘Oh, this will be fun.’ Then I realized there was another table with an empty spot.”
Sebastian: "“My first impression when she walked in was like, ‘Wow, this girl should be on TV.’”
Chemistry
Laura: “I felt like we were already good friends within five minutes. He exuded West Coast style. You could just tell he had that laid-back vibe. ”
Sebastian: “I’m a chemist, and there was chemistry there. We were talking a lot, smiling, laughing.”
Awkward Moment
Laura: “We were taking pictures of each other taking pictures of the food. I think they thought we were food critics at first.”
Sebastian: “We ordered a whole fish at the restaurant, and after eating it, the head was left there. We both wanted it and asked for it to go.”
Afterward
Laura: “We kept joking about how we should wear the most ‘undateable’ outfit for our photos. He brought up Hawaiian shirts and then it just evolved from there.”
Sebastian: “I was going to go to a bar, and she was going home, and I jokingly got on one knee and proposed to her, and she said yes.”
Verdict
Laura: ♥♥♥♥♥ “I definitely would hit him up as a friend to hang out. And we have our wedding coming up, so I’ll probably see him.”
Sebastian: ♥♥♥♥♥ “I think I found my soul mate. We’re picking out a wedding cake a few weeks from now.”
