Christmas cheer is spreading across the city, and Harlem is the next neighborhood getting drenched in twinkly lights and tons of tinsel. After it gets lit tonight, add it as the next stop on your Christmas window display bucket list.

The windows run on Frederick Douglass Boulevard from 114th to 122nd Streets, with displays made by FIT students that feature scenes from the Harlem Renaissance in the early 1900s. It’s not quite as opulent as the displays at Saks Fifth Avenue or Tiffany and Co., but it exchanges little blue boxes for an actual history lesson.
The windows will be on display until January 2, and there are two free tours—one tonight at 5:30pm and one on December 3 at 3pm. Just head to the Harriet Tubman statue on 122nd Street to join in.
