L train commuters spent a lovely morning in Silent Hill today after a track fire filled stations with eerie smoke.

Service on the L line has been suspended between Brooklyn and Manhattan because of a fire on the tracks. In a preview of things to come, there is currently no L train service between Lorimer Street in Brooklyn and 8th Avenue in Manhattan.

Commuters posted multiple images on social media of smoke in the tunnel that the train uses to cross under the East River. The FDNY got the call about smoke in the First Avenue station around 9:20am. They’re currently investigating reports of a fire originating around the 1st Avenue station.

Follow NYCT Subway for any updates on the situation.
