It’s officially gourd season, y’all! Fall in New York is the absolute best, and we can’t wait to do some leaf peeping and check off our list for the best things to do in the fall in NYC.

But before we do any of that, we must first start the season with a ceremonial viewing of the best f*cking Halloween video on the internet: “Pumpkin Dance."

We’re almost certain that you’ve seen this glorious dancing gourd and his incredibly cool-as-hell moves on the web before. In case you’re a “dancing pumpkin man” virgin, feast your eyes on this…

According to an article we read by WNYC, this brilliant video was originally a newscast (circa 2006), and the idea was sparked by KXVO anchor Matt Geiler. The crew needed to fill up the show with a last-minute improvised segment, so Geiler pitched, “I’ve got this one thing where I put on a unitard and a pumpkin head and dance at people’s graves.” Spoiler alert: They went for it.

Thank god for Geiler’s bizarre hobby, right? So happy (almost) 10th anniversary to you, pumpkin man. You rule.
