Sundays run the gauntlet as far as what people choose to do with their final day of freedom. Some go to worship, others use the day to rest or run errands. And then there are those who celebrate the weekly holiday of Sunday Funday. Those that subscribe to the latter will be thrilled to learn that Governor Cuomo has come out in support of a set of bills that would allow for bars and restaurants to serve alcohol beginning at 8am Sundays.
The current law, dating back to prohibition, restricts drinking from 4am Sunday to noon that same day. The new legislation would allegedly allow bars and restaurants to better serve those wanting to watch international sports as well as aiding those in need of a little hair of the dog.
