What's more New York than a party that goes all day, all night and the next day as well? Oh, and the best thing about the New York-themed party at the Museum of the City of New York: It's free!
In honor of the five-years-in-the-making special exhibit New York at Its Core, MCNY is hosting the 32-hour Gotham Groove event on Saturday, November 19, through Sunday, November 20. During the museum party, visitors will get free admission to the museum, including New York at Its Core, which explores the historical events, people and wildlife (though no mention of Pizza Rat) that created the big apple we have today.
For people looking to up the party levels, there are also plenty of special events to choose from with tickets available for purchase. Reservations for a special NYC-themed Moth Story Slam ($10, members $8), a silent disco featuring the best of '70s, '80s and '90s dance music ($20, members $15), and special late-night screenings of classics Saturday Night Fever, After Hours and King Kong. Visitors can also reserve a spot in special free events like a Walt Whitman–themed poetry, song and lecture series, and family dance classes that will teach you and your kids how to move like you're on Broadway.
The party starts November 19 at 10am. Find out more and reserve your spot here.
