New Yorkers may not have Burning Man to claim as their own this August, but that doesn't mean we can't get weird this summer. This Saturday, the Abstract body painting party returns to the DL rooftop for a free evening of psychedelic body art, global house music and good barbecue. Professional painters will be on site to cover willing participants in colorful (and UV-luminescent) body illustrations of dragons, constellations, forests, beasts and more. Topless and face painting is optional, so if you're looking to get fully decked out, you should wear something skimpy that can handle a few stains.

And don't worry: becoming living art doesn't mean you have to stand around like a statue. The DL's DJs will be spinning a sweeping mix of house beats that incorporates Indian electro, Afrobeat, Columbian pop and more, and the dance floor is certain to be lit with radiant moving bodies. If you need fuel to party from 3–10pm, you can grab some barbecue bites and keep raging.

ABSTRACT: Body Painting Art & Music Party is at the DL Rooftop on August 13. Entrance is free. You can learn more and register here.
