We're officially one month out from the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the long-awaited continuation of the world's most beloved sci-fi saga and the beginning of a new era of endless Disney Star Wars movies. If you've burned through your blu-rays and can't get away with wearing your Tatooine bikini costume in this weather anymore, then head to Discovery Times Square for "Star Wars and the Power of Costume," a visual feast on more than 60 looks from the first two Star Wars trilogies, along with seven getups from The Force Awakens.
Broken into nine chapters, including "Jedi vs. Sith: Form, Function and Design" and "After the Throne: Padme's Journey" (are you freaking out yet?), the lush exhibition explains the creative processes, cultural influences and lasting legacy of some of the most iconic looks in movies.

So gawk all you like at the Boba Fett suit or at Senator Amidala's Naboo jet-set couture, but don't touch, unless you want to lose your hand to a lightsaber.
"Star Wars and the Power of Costume" runs daily at Discovery Times Square, 226 W 24th Street, through September 5, 2016. Tickets are $25.
