At the end of the month, Gowanus is getting a new brewery that doubles as a pub and an event-space, Threes Brewing. But you don’t have to wait that long to sample the suds: During a preview party this weekend, take home a growler of the first batch of beer and gorge on Briskettown's Texas-style barbecue all day and night.

Admission to Smite the Brite on Saturday, Nov 8 is free, but growlers of the brewery’s first batch, a fresh IPA, are $10 and must be reserved in advance. There are only 250 available, so snag one soon. You can pick up your pre-ordered growler anytime between noon and midnight that day, but we doubt that BrisketTown’s sandwiches ($10)—piled high with chopped beef brisket, pulled pork or smoked turkey—will last that long. Get there on the early side to pair ‘em with sides like caramelized-onion-studded potato salad or jalapeño mac and cheese with fried shallots, then kick back and listen to live bluegrass.
