A week after sneaking books onto the tube in London, Emma Watson is delivering them to the NYC subway, on a day when NYC especially needs a feminist icon. Watson just announced that she'll be hiding Maya Angelou books on trains tonight in the hopes of inspiring New Yorkers on this dismal day. Afterward, she says, “I am going to fight even harder for all the things I believe in.”
The Beauty and the Beast star herself is braving the crowds of the subway at rush hour, and she just posted a photo at 23rd Street.
The project is part of Watson’s feminist book club, Our Shared Shelf. The book for this month is Angelou’s Mom & Me & Mom, so keep an eye out for that one in the corner of your L train tonight.
