With your winter depression allegedly shaken off, you can actually do those summer activities you've been dreaming about: hitting the beach, lounging in the park, and enjoying a summer drink at a garden party. Luckily, The Smithsonian's Cooper Hewitt design museum kicks off its annual Cocktails at Cooper Hewitt series tomorrow, which runs every Thursday through August 18.

The garden party series brings you to the lush, newly renovated Arthur Ross Terrace and Garden, where you can sip Prosecco and wine-based cocktails and try seafood and fresh vegetable spreads from the Tarallucci e Vino café. Expect a different performer to take the outdoor stage every Thursday, starting with a modern dance piece by Katherine Maxwell at this week's event. Future acts include Brazilian percussion crew Harlem Samba, Juilliard alumni, and a host of DJs from around the world.

If you'd like to sneak a little museum culture in with your alcohol, the first and second floor exhibition spaces will be open for perusing from 6–7pm. You can check out the staggering triennial exhibit Beauty or view 16th and 17th century prints in Fragile Beasts, among other exhibitions.

Cocktails at Cooper Hewitt is every Thursday, 6–9pm through August 18. Admission costs $13, $15 at the door and includes one cocktail.
