Summer is in full swing down in Coney Island, and among the attractions making their way back to the boardwalk is a reprise “Coney Art Walls.” Billed as Coney Island’s “Outdoor Museum of Street Art,” this year’s edition features 21 new murals created by an international line-up of street artists, including Aiko, Crash and Lady Pink among others. Curated by gallerist Jeffrey Deitch and Coney Island developer Joe Sitt, the project was a huge hit when it debuted last year and is already making more waves the Atlantic Ocean. Food is part of the fun as the lot adjacent to the art boasts a beer garden and a group of shipping containers hosting pop-up eateries courtesy Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Calexico and Table 87. If you’re a fan of street, check out our sample of what’s in store.
