Chelsea Market has opened a new level for local shoppers

Every time you stop by Chelsea Market, you’re bound to find something new. Now, visitors will find a whole new floor.

The ever-changing market has expanded into an impressive 13,000-square-foot area located in the cellar of the building. The new level, which is accessible via a staircase in the center of the market, will offer food from Saxelby Cheesemonger, Ronnybrook Farm Dairy and the popular hot sauce store, Heatonist.

Manhattan Fruit Exchange and Buon’Italia are also now located on the lower level. 

The “Chelsea Local,” as the subterranean space is called, will have its grand opening next Thursday. However, curious shoppers can swing by now to check out all the new goods.
