Last Friday, 76-year-old kosher diner B&H Dairy joyously re-opened its doors to throngs of loyal fans for the first time since March's Second Avenue explosion tore through the block. Months later, thanks in part to nearly $30,000 raised through a crowdfunding campaign by neighbor Andy Reynolds, owners Fawzy and Ola Abdelwahed are once again serving those beloved tuna melts, omelettes and blintzes to a fully packed house.
This Friday from 6 to 8pm, head to the East Village for the official welcome home party complete with free coffee, cakes and challah. Tables and chairs will be moved to accommodate standing-room-only attendees and Florence Bergson Goldberg, granddaughter of the restaurant's original owners, will join the festivities as a guest of honor.
