Watch the throne, Chi-town. Kings County's coming for you.
Brooklyn, New York’s most populous borough, is close to surpassing the Windy City as the third-largest city in the country (In theory, at least. Because, you know, it's not a city.) That’s according to recent census estimates, which reports that the borough has increased its population by more than five percent from 2010 to 2015.
That level of growth puts it on pace to have a higher population than Chicago very soon, which grew less than one percent during the same five years. In fact, Brooklyn is only 84,000 cash-strapped residents away from claiming the bronze medal of overcrowded cities.
Sorry your census numbers aren’t as big as your pizza crust, Chicago.
