Breezy Point, the Irish-American beach enclave tucked away on the western end of the Rockaway peninsula, has largely bounced back from the significant damage the community suffered during Superstorm Sandy, but nearly two years later, one neighborhood institution remains closed due to storm-related construction.

Not for long—104-year-old waterfront restaurant Kennedy's will resume dinner service at 5pm on Wednesday, Oct 29th, the two-year anniversary of the day they closed due to the storm. Brunch and lunch menus will follow in December. During repairs to the historic space, owners also added a glass-enclosed 50-seat space overlooking the bay for private parties. We don't know about you, but we're plenty excited for more picturesque seaside meals in our future.
