We think biking around New York is super cool, but taking a joy ride without the proper headwear is not. We get it: Helmets—especially a two-wheeler—are expensive. There is no shortage of ace bike shops in the city, but why drop a dime on a protective headpiece when you can nab one for free? No, you’re eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. To score a free head-protector, all you have to do is show up to the Brooklyn Public Library this afternoon during NYC Dot’s helmet fitting from 3:30pm–7pm.
The helmets are first-come, first-served, so you better trek there now if you want to be cruising through NYC’s scenic bike paths by sunset. Now if only the bike were free too, sigh.
