[title]
Just as massive blankets of snow sweep over the city, artisanal ice cream parlor Ample Hills Creamery is unleashing even more cold on New Yorkers: two new flavors for the Super Bowl.
Inspired by Sunday's tête-à-tête, the scoop shop created themed flavors for fans of both teams, including the Caffeine High for Seahawks devotees, made with coffee ice cream and Seattle's Dilettante chocolate-covered espresso beans and mocha flakes. Then there's Patriot Pie, a riff on Boston Cream Pie for New Englanders, whipped up with custard ice cream, swirls of vanilla pudding, sponge cake and chocolate truffles. This battle between scoops could be a good indicator for the game, but which will be the victor?
To decide for yourself, either trek through the snow to snag a few fresh scoops ($4–$5) at the Gowanus and Prospect Heights shops, or stay bundled up and get a four-pack of pints ($48) delivered to your door. As a sweet bonus, the creamery announced it will ship nationwide for the big game, so tell your New England and West Coast friends to stock up—they'll just have to order online by midnight on Tuesday, Jan 27 for delivery on Thursday, Jan 29 or Friday, Jan 30. The true test will be holding out until Sunday to dig in.
