[title]
Holiday weekend rush hour traffic isn’t the only thing you need to worry about tonight.
The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for the New York City area today until 10pm. Don’t freak out and cancel that trip to the Catskills, though. A Tornado Watch only means there are conditions favorable for a tornado to form. No tornados have yet developed and none have been reported. So it’s still pretty unlikely that you’ll get swept up Diana Ross-style and embark on a whimsical quest to meet The Wiz. Sorry.
New Yorkers should still exercise caution when walking, driving or biking, however. Tornadoes can cause flying debris, power outages and down power lines.
